Miss C's helpful hint #1

If your dog's tennis ball falls into a squirrel hole, don't try to stick your arm down the hole, it only pushes the ball further into the tunnel which is slanted downward. Just wait a few days and go back to the area where your dog lost the ball. The squirrels will have pushed it out the other end of the tunnel.

It's like when you drop something like a twig onto a spider's web, the little fella runs over to assess the situation. He/she then quickly gets that twig loose and it falls to the ground. Happens every time. I have tried it during breaks on family hikes. I don't do it too many times to the same spider because that would be cruel. :-)

If a raccoon gets in your trash dumpster and cannot escape because the walls are to tall and slick, don't try to get him out. Just put a two by four or something else he can climb in there and leave. Tomorrow he will be gone.

Well most people are a lot crueler to spiders than you are Karen. They mash them every chance they get. Unlike trees, spiders really are my friends! Thanks for the advice on the raccoons, Staggy. We are over run with them.
